Following our decision to make the Severn Hospice Rockford IT’s charity of the year 2017, our Marketing Executive, Lauren and Sales Support Executive Kim ‘jumped’ on board an exciting skydive challenge! On the 25th of March, in Whitchurch, Lauren and Kim took to the skies and completed a 10,000 feet tandem skydive for charity.
Lauren and Kim were joined by another 7 Severn Hospice ‘jumpers’ who were also raising money for the Severn Hospice.
After a 30 minute briefing, they were ready to meet their instructors and get geared up! It took roughly 20 minutes to reach 10,000ft in a very small plane, which seated 6 on the floor. They took the plunge with their instructors, falling 4,000ft at 120mph through the sky! At 6,000ft the parachute was opened which allowed for some incredible views of the UK, being able to see as far as the Isle of Man! The jumps went well for both until landing when Kim sadly damaged her ankle.
Lauren comments: “It was the best experience of my life, when the parachute came up you could hear a pin drop, the views were amazing and not a cloud in the sky! I’d definitely do it again and would recommend to anyone!” Kim, understandably is less keen on repeating the experience.
So far collectively Rockford IT have raised a total of £2,000 – thank you to everyone who has donated so far! You still have time to sponsor either Lauren or Kim for their completed skydive, simply head over to their just giving pages.
Any money raised will go towards Rockford IT’s final total of money raised for the Severn Hospice for 2017. We hope to reach our target of £5000 by the end of the year, please help us in our effort to raise as much money as possible!
Rockford IT are taking part in numerous events throughout 2017 including: The Midnight Cinderella Walk and The Dragon Boat Race, Shrewsbury. Help donate towards our main total here…
